Dr. Manuel Rigo Caldito

Dr. en Medicina y Cirugía ( col. 19050)

Manuel Rigo Caldito, Licenciado en Medicina y Cirugía por la UAB (1981) y Doctor en Medicina y Cirugía por la Universidad de Córdoba (2001). Primera especialidad en Alergia e Inmunología clínica. Posteriormente se orienta hacia la rehabilitación de la escoliosis y otras alteraciones de la forma de la columna. Profundiza en el campo de la fisioterapia específica de la escoliosis a través de la escuela alemana de Schroth, e inicia su labor docente en la escuela de Fisioterapia Gimbernat.

Con experiencia clínica en el tratamiento ortopédico de la escoliosis mediante conceptos tradicionales entonces (Milwaukee, Boston, Lyon), entra en contacto con el Dr. Jacques Chêneau a finales de los 80, quien le guía en sus primeros pasos en el tratamiento ortopédico de acuerdo al concepto CTM (Chêneau-Toulouse-Münster), contribuyendo posteriormente a la estandarización del mismo y definiendo los principios de acción del entonces llamado corsé de Chêneau. La clasificación de Rigo es una referencia y es utilizada en el tratamiento no quirúrgico de la escoliosis por numerosos especialistas, sobre todo aquellos que utilizan el corsé Rigo-Chêneau.

Profesor invitado, Bundesfachschule für Orthopädie-Technik Dortmund – BUFA, Germany desde el año 2002 curso annual sobre el cores de Chêneau de acuerdo a principios de Rigo.
